Happy New Year from United Environmental Services

As 2016 quickly approaches, we take a moment to pause, look back, and appreciate another great year.

Our clients have been busy, which has in turn kept us busy as well. An increase in real estate transactions has focused attention on lingering environmental issues, that we have successfully resolved quickly and efficiently to help facilitate sales. The increase in property transactions has also increased our Phase I ESA business dramatically.  From California to New Jersey, Florida to New Hampshire, we have been able to meet the needs of our clients regarding environmental liability issues prior to purchase agreements on often very critical timelines.

Our Professional Geologists have been busy with a wide variety of projects throughout Pennsylvania from the initial delineation stages through innovative remediation techniques, and project completion.

UES is proud to welcome aboard  John “JP” McGlynn as a Geologic Technician.  With a strong resume and a degree in Environmental, Geographical and Geologic Sciences from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, JP is already impressing clients with his attention to detail and work ethic.

Big plans are in the works for 2016, stay tuned for updates!

Happy New Year!

United Environmental Services is thankful to have had a busy 2014.  We thank our clients for continuing to rely on us to help meet their environmental and compliance needs during times of growth, and some unexpected issues…  We appreciate the relationships we are building with new clients that have come on board this year.  With our clients’ growth, we have grown as well by adding new staff members who are already making an impact.

We welcome Mr. Sam H. Baughman II, M.S., P.G. as Geoscience Operations Director.  Sam is diving deep into projects and solving problems from below the ground surface with fresh eyes, and a very impressive technical geology background.  Sam has over twenty-five years of experience conducting and directing a broad range of geologic, hydrogeologic, engineering geology, geophysical, and environmental investigations. His geologic and hydrogeologic experience includes numerous settings involving glacial till, karst, fractured bedrock, coal measures, and piedmont geology in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and New Jersey. He has also served as an expert witness on contaminated groundwater sites and karst related sites.

We welcome Mr. Kenneth M. Haulton who has joined the United team as a Geologic Technician.  With a degree in Geology from SUNY, Ken brings a professional skill set he has been developing over the past seven years in the environmental consulting field.  His geology based experience includes phase I and II site investigations, soil and groundwater sampling, asbestos inspections, and much more.

As 2014 comes to an end we look forward to sharing a successful 2015 with our clients, and partners.

What A Great Summer!

One of the highlights of this summer has included being able to help our clients as they experience growth and geographic expansion.

United Environmental Services was ready recently when called upon to help some clients with their environmental issues in Maryland, Ohio, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

As a Pennsylvania based company, we are both pleased and proud that the value and service we provide is recognized by our clients when they have issues that lie outside both of our typical geographical regions.

Thanks!

Asbestos Building Inspection Services

United Environmental Services, Inc. provides Asbestos Building Inspection services to the Commercial, Manufacturing, Residential, and Education sectors.

Certified by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, we work with Facility Managers, Property Owners, Sellers, Buyers and Realtors to provide accurate inspection, sampling and quantification of asbestos containing materials.

Asbestos has been widely used in building materials for many years, it is also a dangerous carcinogen that may cause mesothelioma and lung cancer.  In our area, federal, state, and local agencies are involved with regulated asbestos containing materials.

Before performing a property transaction, repairs, renovation, or demolition activities where asbestos containing materials may be suspected, we recommend contacting United Environmental, a Certified Asbestos Building Inspector to qualify and quantify the presence of asbestos to ensure safety and regulatory compliance at your site.

United Environmental Services UST Remover Re-certification

March, 2013 –

United Environmental Services, Inc. is pleased to announce that Mark Loureiro has recently been re-certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) as a Certified Underground Storage Tank (UST) Remover.  Mr. Loureiro has been with United Environmental since 2001, and utilizes his UST Remover and UST Inspector Certification  on a daily basis to keep UST owners in compliance.

The Pennsylvania Storage Tank and Spill Prevention Act and PADEP regulations established a certification program for installers and inspectors of aboveground and underground storage tanks. Only PADEP certified storage tank installers and/or inspectors may install, modify, remove or inspect storage tanks.

PADEP recommends that storage tank owners verify which activities a person is certified to conduct before employing his or her services. For example, a person certified only to conduct an underground tank removal cannot perform a tank installation.
